BBC 2019 - Gimbal, Drone & Long Lens
My third and final shoot for Seven Worlds, working with & learning from the amazing John Aitchison, with Erin Ranney & Director Abi Lees.
South Georgia is a minimum 5 day sail from the Falkland Islands, and thats if you don't hit bad weather and get the wind behind you. Isolated in the Southern Atlantic, it is home to giants such as the 4 ton Elephant Seal, but we came to record the plight of the Grey-Headed Albatross. Unpredated, these animals trust everything here, so our access and personal connection to them was like nothing else. Aiming for a small 3 minute sequence to inject an emotional climate story into the Antarctic Episode, we ended up with a 7 minute epic, such was the beauty and emotion of these birds.
